Tungsten Carbide Gauge Blocks
Back to ProductsTungsten carbide is an excellent material to manufacture gauge blocks from. Opus tungsten carbide gauge blocks are extremely accurate, stable and have excellent wringing characteristics. Each gauge block is manufactured from carefully selected materials having a hardness of approximately 1500 Hv, they set standards of surface finish that are beyond materials such as steel. | |
Opus has developed production techniques to ensure a micro-fine surface on every tungsten carbide gauge block that it produces. The Opus finish guarantees excellent wringing characteristics and a high resistance to wear. Opus tungsten carbide gauge blocks are rigorously checked for flatness of their measuring surfaces using a laser flatness interferometer. Each gauge is then calibrated in our own UKAS accredited laboratory for length and graded according to the relevant national or international specification. All measured results are stored on our database using software which was developed specifically for us. A UKAS calibration certificate can be supplied free of charge with each order providing it is specified on the initial request Gauges can be supplied in sets or as individual sizes, special sizes up to 100mm (4 inches) in length can also be supplied upon request.
